Updates for the Retail platform in August 2024

Single Sign-On is now available

You can now log in via Single Sign-On (SSO) after configuring it for your organization.

To set up the SSO, your Admin should go to the new Identity Providers page in the Admin Panel, configure your Identity Provider, and attach it to your organization. Then, the system automatically checks for SSO credentials when you log in.

NOTE: We are still validating this feature to ensure the developed solution and the current setup flow work without issues.

Advanced fields in the Retail PX API response

We have enabled support for the Advanced fields in the Retail PX API response. When exporting the content, you can receive all the Advanced attributes and values using the Retail PX API. It is critical for both food and non-food segment brand manufacturers, especially if they need to submit and validate their product content in GS1 GDSN.

Advanced fields are complex, nested-structure attributes and may have multiple instances.

You don’t need to change any API configurations if you already use our Retail PX API. But you need the updates, if you want to retrieve the full path to the top-level attribute.

The enhancements include:

  • A new path parameter for the Advanced fields. It indicates the position among multiple values and encodes the position of the value in the nested structure.

  • Updated the GET Data Model method.

  • Updated the GET Product SHOW method.

Automatic email notifications about the Retail PX API token expiration

We launched automatic email notifications to let you know your API token expires in 30 days. The enhancement prevents unexpected disruptions in API access and potential downtime. In the email, you will find clear instructions on the token renewal process and a link to the Developers page.

Following the instructions in the email, you can renew your token effortlessly and maintain uninterrupted access to the Retail PX API.

Quality-of-life improvements

We introduce several quality-of-life improvements to simplify your daily work in the Retail platform, streamline processes, and reduce repetitive tasks.

The enhancements include:

  • Download progress indication and direct download link. In Exports, when you select Download export in Actions and the downloading process takes too long, the platform shows you the message with a direct download link.

  • Flexible handling of import with extra headers. Imports now proceed successfully even if the data source file contains extra headers or not-mapped columns. This eliminates the need for constant adjustments in the mapping.

  • Advanced field input errors and better guidance. Previously, when entering data into the Advanced fields, the input collapsed due to some error you couldn’t see. As a solution, we added:

    • The toggle Show only fields with errors in Filters for Master Data and Variants.

    • The error indicator and count next to Master Data or Variants names.

    • A tooltip next to a disabled Save button to let you know that you need to fix the input errors before saving.

  • Product deletion and attribute removal confirmation. We added confirmation pop-ups and warnings:

    • When you try to delete a Master Data product. The message will inform you that the platform also deletes all associated Variants.

    • When you want to remove all the attributes from the data model, the message ensures it is your intent.
