Here is a list of questions that our platform users ask frequently. See if you can find an answer to your question here. If not, feel free to contact rpxsupport@productsup.com and let us know if posting answers to your questions in this FAQ would be helpful.
Q: Could you help us import this list of products?
A: Certainly! The Productsup Retail platform imports your product data into the system, makes it meet the requirements of relevant retailers, and sends it to the defined retailers in the appropriate format. After receiving all necessary product information from your organization, the Retail platform uses import mappings to map your product attributes to the ones expected by relevant retailers. See Import Mapping for more information.
To import your product data into the Retail platform, you need to create an Excel file with your product attributes and attribute values. Different retailers require different types of information, some of which can be mandatory, so it is safe to provide as much product data in the Excel file as you possibly can.

NOTE: The names of the column fields you deliver in your Excel file should match the available fields in the Retail platform system exactly. Otherwise, information might be sorted incorrectly, or the available information can be incomplete. If you decide to keep using different names for your attributes, you should make sure they are linked to the appropriate corresponding attributes in your import mappings.
It is impossible to provide an extensive list of all product attributes you may need to send your product data to relevant retailers successfully, but here this list is a good start:

Extra information that didn't fit in any of the other description attributes. There is no character limit.

Q: Could I export information from the Retail platform to clients?
A: Certainly! For any export, you should know what information you wish to export to which retailers. The export of a list of EAN codes and the appropriate products is usually delivered as an Excel file.
See How To Export Products for more information.
When you prepare your product data and schedule your exports, the Retail platform lets you know if the necessary data is incomplete and asks you to add the missing information. The better your completeness score is, the easier it is for the Retail platform to quickly export your data and make sure retailers get what they need.
If you are unsure how to export your data, reach out to rpxsupport@productsup.com.
INFO: Based on the master data you provide, the platform creates product variants for different retailers. Different retailers will require the same information in different formats or fields, and product variants take care of this.
Q: If I make a change in my master data, how can I make sure that this change is also applied to all available variants?
A: When you make a change in your master data, you save the changes by selecting Save. If you do this for a product that has variants, a screen will pop up that will ask you which changes you wish to save for the existing product variants.
If you want to change a product's data and apply this change to all the variants of this product, make sure you are editing the master data product. If you save your changes in a product variant, you don't get an option to apply this change to other product variants or the master data product.
Q: How can I see which of my registered products don’t have added assets (images) yet?
A: The best way to quickly see which products lack an asset is by doing a generic export, which creates an output file with the data of all your products. The output file created by a generic export contains the column meta_assets
. This column can tell you if the corresponding product has an asset file attached to it. To add new assets, go to Media.
To make a generic export, go to Products and select the products you wish to export. Choose Export products and then select Generic export.
Q: I would like to check if I have the right variants for my registered products/EAN codes. And I'd also like to see if I should add or remove any variants. How can I best do this?
A: The quickest and easiest way to check your variants is by creating a data sheet of all your available variants. To do this, you can go to Products. In the product overview page, you can filter on a variant name. To do this, select the filter icon in the column Variant Name. A field will open where you can check which variants you wish to filter on. Checking all variants will create a list of all your products.
To download this list as an Excel file, create an export of all the selected products by selecting Export products. Make sure to select the export type Generic export in the first step of the export. This will create a file you can download in Exports. This export contains an .xlsx file with all the selected products, or the equivalent EAN codes, and shows if they have variants. If a product or an EAN code only has master data, this means no variants have been created for this product. If necessary, you can create product variants by going to the product page and selecting Add variant.
Another way to see if certain EAN codes have variants is to go to Products and use the GTIN filter located next to the search field. Here, you can fill out EAN codes to select products with the entered code. After filling out the EAN code, the checklist lets you select the product's existing variants besides the Master Data. If an EAN code combined with a checked variant doesn't give a result, this particular variant doesn't exist.
